慈幼會來華傳道興學一百年，栽培學生無數，社會精英及中堅份子不乏來自慈幼會大家庭。慈幼會開辦中、小學及工業學校共 14 所，是本港甚具規模的辦學團體；慈幼會值得驕傲的不在於學生人數眾多，而在於辦學的特色。自會祖鮑斯高神父起，慈幼會的服務就以青少年為主，不論貧、富、智、愚，一律平等，有教無類，不放棄每一個學生，是慈幼會會士堅守的信念。 慈幼會學生大多來自基層，沒有一般富裕家庭子弟的浮誇習氣，多是刻苦好學，勤儉樸實，奮發求進的好青年。在慈幼會別具一格的教育理念薰陶下，慈幼子弟都有一種特殊氣質：自勵、自信、謙遜、質樸、團結。散處海外的慈幼子弟，只要彼此知道都是「慈幼仔」，兄弟之情便油然而生，互相扶持，甚或相濡以沫。一些貴族學校或名校，不愁沒有學生認出門下，系出名門，畢竟是榮耀的事，勢利之心，人所難免；慈幼子弟並不以來自普羅而自愧，堂堂正正，以來自尋常百姓家而自豪，以將相本無種的豪情回饋社會而自期。...
